The Closet Environmentalist is on a quest to make her clothes last as long as possible so that she doesn't need to waste resources with new clothes. Her first mission in her Green Clothes Series to start "with how we can extract the most life of the stuff that is already in our closet. This means making it last as long as possible, and delay the dreaded moment when your favorite shirt makes you look like a scrub."

What would be a MAJOR motivator for you to purchase sustainable-fabric clothing?
Here are some examples of some of the great "non-hippy" looks out there that are relatively easy to find:
Price - assuming I found something stylish that I liked, I'd like to pay around the same price as other similar products
Style - regardless of price, if I found something stylish enough I'd be willing to switch fabric loyalties
Availability - if these were available at the same stores I normally shop at
Benefits - If I knew why I should purchase sustainable-fabric clothing, I might purchase some
Other (please explain below)

I should hope that most people don't throw out their clothing and household items when they no longer have use for them. Instead, most people donate their stuff to secondhand/thrift shops - but do you also buy thrift?
Here's a bit from thetyee.ca:
"In keeping with the locally made notion, many of the now defunct brands (such as Marjorie Hamilton or Bernard Casuals) that once populated local fashion are still available in vintage and thrift stores.

Cut in to the side of a hill, these Hobbit, or Woodland homes are eco-friendly and low impact.
From Environmental Graffiti: "The development of an eco-village is set to take place in 2008 in Pembrokeshire, as this is one of the only county’s in the UK (apart from Milton Keynes) to have a planning policy for low impact Development."
Would you consider living in one of these houses?

As Danny says on SimplyGreen: One of the easiest ways to stop dirt from entering your house is to simply leave your shoes at the door. But as an eco-stylist, I've always had hesitation to leave piles of shoes by the door; it just looks unsightly.
and Green as a Thistle says:
How is this green, you ask?
