I just bought an outdoor composting bin and am pretty excited to start composting. However, I need to locate it in a sunny area in my yard and that area is far from my patio door. Here, in Vancouver, the Epic Sustainable Living Expo , just one of many "green festivals" in this city at this time of year, was held this weekend. Even though "green" events are not often widely publicized, it does seem like a lot is going on around the city, country, and world in celebration of Earth Day (or Earth Month, really) and to celebrate Spring generally.

so what better way to get rid of materials that are not easily recycled: make them into products. i'm one of those people that carry her own bag to the grocery store so that i don't have to use the plastic bags. sometimes though, the small fold out bag isn't big enough for the day's good.
