One of my favorite eco-friendly products is Mabu cleaning cloths! They are about $3 USD from Amazon online but i buy mine from the local Home Hardware store for about $3 CDN. I use some for doing dishes, wiping counters, cleaning generally - they have so many uses! They last a really long time - when they are a bit worn out then can be used as rags for cleaning a car or something similar. Here is a ton of information about them:
a bit about the cloth:
Mabu simply feels wonderful. Mabu's special 8 layer design creates a soft, thick, touchable cloth.
Mabu is bacteria and stain resistant. Cleverly engineered weaving of 8 layers holds bacteria, stains, debris, and dirt in suspension - simply rinsing under a tap leaves the Mabu fresh, clean and sparkling white.
Mabu's unique woven fabric won't trap food particles and other debris that stay moist and can incubate germs and foul odors. This never happens with the long lasting Mabu design.
Mabu is stiffened for packaging with harmless edible starch. Washes out with first rinse

Mabu cleans and dries in one stroke - You can use soap and cleaners, but most of the time the Mabu cloth performs best with plain water.
How to clean your Mabu Cloth
After every use, rinsing out the Mabu under water removes contaminants that can incubate bacteria and foul odors...
NO more sour dish cloth smells haunting your kitchen sink!
Any discoloration usually disappears with a short soak in detergent water...fresh and white again!
Stubborn stains can be treated by adding a few drops of bleach to the water.
Wring out and hang, or lay flat to dry in a well ventilated place. The Mabu stays soft, clean and white.
For convenience your Mabu can be run through
the washing machine but may shrink moderately
and may wear faster.
FAQS
Q. What is the Mabu Multi Cloth made from?
A. The Mabu Multi Cloth is made from 100% Natural Wood Pulp Fiber.
Q. Why is the Mabu stiff when first used?
A. Mabu is stiffened for shipping with tapioca starch. This is a harmless edible starch which must be rinsed out under warm water before using for the first time.
Q. Why is the Mabu bacteria resistant?
A. In fact the Mabu Cloth absorbs bacteria, as laboratory testing has shown, but the unique 8 layer open weave design allows bacteria to be released when rinsed.
Q. Why does the Mabu not retain odors?
A. Because of Mabu's unique rinsability, you can rinse out odors even after days at the bottom of a sink, unlike standard dishcloths that hold sour smells even after soap and soaking.
Q. What can I do when Mabu gets a stubborn stain?
A. All wiping cloths can stain. A unique quality of the Mabu is that most stains simply rinse out after a soak in detergent water. Add a few drops of bleach to the detergent water to remove those very stubborn stains to return to sparkling white.
Q. Is the Mabu machine washable?
A. Yes. In fact for convenience throw the Mabu in with the whites. Putting the Mabu in the dryer will not affect any of the unique qualities, but it will make it soft and puffy and it may shrink slightly.
