so what better way to get rid of materials that are not easily recycled: make them into products. i'm one of those people that carry her own bag to the grocery store so that i don't have to use the plastic bags. sometimes though, the small fold out bag isn't big enough for the day's good. hello Billboard Tote!

ecologic teamed up with The Container Store to create the unique Billboard Tote. they took billboards from across the US from past TCS campaigns and constructed totes from them.

here's a quick did you know for you: "reclaimed highway billboards are tough, waterproof and one of a kind. the US produces 100 sq miles of billboard evey year. unfortunately, vinyl is not biodegradable or recyclable. the good news is we are able to make exciting products from this advertising waste." the bag is truly rugged and has great straps. i also like the side pocket for my umbrella. what's fun (for some of us) is trying to guess which campaign the bag is made from. it's hard, but we've gotten a few correct.
