We believe in global responsibility. Ethical Bean purchases only Certified Fair Trade and Certified Organic coffees. It is important to us that coffee farmers are paid a living wage for their efforts, and that they can afford the basic necessities of life, like food, shelter, education and health care. Fair Trade is about ensuring a sustainable future for coffee growers worldwide.

At Ethical Bean, we know we are just one link in a chain. That's why we also ensure that all of our business practices align with those we do business with. We use the same set of criteria in choosing our business relationships, locally and internationally, that we do in selecting our coffee.

We believe in environmental sustainability. Ethical Bean roasts coffee that is grown with an eye for the environment. With a focus on organic, shade grown and bird friendly coffee, how and where our coffee is grown is important. Our suppliers strive to leave the smallest footprint and to preserve surrounding ecosystems.

It is coffee purified, pared down, reduced and supremely focused in intensity... It starts with a suggestion, softly whispered. Beans are roasted, feathered in flames and smoke. Sifted and combined, coffees from every corner of the earth shake hands in agreement. Their assembly becomes like a welder's flux, fed through and flowing. Ground, heated, pressed and applied. Your San Francisco muse in a cup. A grounded yet dynamic and expressive blend with eight-octave range on the palate. Flavours of the Far East's exoticism, conjure memories of teakwood and spice, lovingly enveloped in earth mother sweetness with an echoing finish. Peace, buttercup.

Vancouver's Folk Music Festival is the ultimate annual Vancouver event — a chance for the city's diverse citizens to mix as performers, volunteers and audience members. In November 2006, the Festival Blend won Best Organic Beverage (non alcoholic) from the Certified Organic Associations of BC. Hooray!
