At Branch, we're all about sustainability. What do we mean by that? In short, we think that products should be made in the most environmentally-responsible way possible.
Also -- and this is equally important -- we think that products shouldn't have to look eco-friendly to actually be "green".

Everything we sell at Branch qualifies as being "sustainable" in some way or another (often in many ways). This could mean, for example, that a product is made from organically-grown fiber, or from recycled- or reclaimed stock, or from sustainably-harvested wood, or from a naturally-occurring, renewable material.

When selecting items, we not only consider the components that make up a product; we also look at the manufacturing process itself: What kinds of dyes or paints are used? How much energy is expended in a product's manufacture, and what's the source of that energy? Are the workers who make these things paid a fair wage, and are they provided safe and healthy conditions in which to work?

We go to the trouble of finding products that adhere to our rigorous standards because we believe that people do care about the things they buy: given a choice, a person will choose a product that's made in a responsible manner over a similar one that's not. Our goal at Branch is to make those "responsible" choices more attractive and functional.

It's our hope that shopping at Branch gets people thinking differently about the things they buy and where those things come from. And that maybe this thoughtfulness will inspire people to ask more questions -- and to be more demanding -- when making other purchases. In this small way, we hope to make a difference.
